Birthday

Enjoy Today!

Enjoy today! Who wouldn’t want a card that told you to do that?!? 🙂 This is a great card for a birthday, graduation, wedding, or just an any day card. I don’t think you always need a reason to give a card. I used the Card Patterns sketch #99 as inspiration. I made the card quite simple compared to the examples the design team did, but I like that about this card. I really am loving the kraft paper and use it quite a bit for card bases. I think its fun to have something other than white sometimes.

Thanks for looking!

Boy Birthday

I usually like to make cards that are pink and frilly and glittery, but wanted to have something on hand for a little boy. I used the sketch from CPS #202 to create this cute card. I had some DCWV Animal Crackers paper that I used for the background and embellished it with an elephant stamp. I had never tried paper piecing with a stamp before and I’m proud of how my elephant came out. I stamped the image on the kraft circle, a piece of plaid paper, and a piece of blue paper. I cut the elephant body out of the plaid paper, ear out of the blue one and glued them to the kraft one. Not too hard so I will definitely try to do this again!

Birthday Card

Woo hoo! My third card of the night! I’ve enjoyed
submitting cards to sketch challnege sites, and this one is for
Inspirational card sketches sketch 97.

I had bought this fiskars stamp roll
thing at Joann’s one day and broke it out for the first time
tonight. It took me a little bit to get it to work properly. I had
a hard time rolling the stamp around the roller and then it wasn’t
inking properly, but I realized it wasn’t on the roller right.
After I fixed it it started to work pretty well. I think I need to
practice more with it. Anyway, I stamped the numbers along the side
of the card. Then I stamped the cake and added some Stickles to
glitterize the image. I made some accordian flowers to embellish
just a little more. I didn’t know What to put at the bottom, but it needed something. Ribbon didn’t look right, so I used the same paper as I used behind the cake and made a couple of lines to anchor the flowers. I like how the card turned out but still think I need to practice more with stamps.

Pink and Black Birthday

Hi there! I found a new challenge site called Card Pattern Sketch. This card was inspired by Card Pattern Sketch 97.

http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/2011/01/sketch-97.html

I really love pink and black together, so as soon as I thought to
put black with the “Happy Birthday” chipboard sticker I used I was
really excited for this card. The chipboard sticker is something I
got from the CKC scrapbook convention last year from the vendor
Boxer Scrapbooks. I created the card from pink cardstock, ran some
black squares through embossing folders on my cuttlebug and made
the accordian flower out of paper I found at Target. I think it
turned out pretty good. I can’t wait to give this out for someone
birthday!
